When death comes workshop

As part of the When death comes festival I ran a workshop to facilitate discussion around the participant’s photographic responses to a brief. They were invited to interpret the phrase “When death comes…” and bring along the results to the workshop.
I helped people share their work and learn from each other’s approaches. The idea of the challenge was to stretch people creatively, encouraging experimentation in terms of approach as well as aesthetics. It was a chance to try something new while responding to an open yet challenging brief.
When death comes was an art space and series of events where people could come together to think about, talk about, and create their own work about dying and living.
We don’t have enough spaces to talk about death and the profound effects it has on our lives. And we don’t have many spaces to respond creatively to these stories – producing work that can help us in our own lives as well as inspire and connect with others.
I also created the branding, fliers, posters, video and website for the project.
